On March 25, 2025, the Society of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians Cameroon (SOGOC) hosted a one-day meeting with the Advocacy for Comprehensive Abortion Care (ACAC) project team and a delegation from the Organization for Safe Abortion Dialogue (ODAS).

The ODAS team included Marie Syr Diagne, Advocacy and Partnership Officer; Karna Kone, Communication and Engagement Advisor; and Didier Florant, ODAS Focal Point for Cameroon.
The meeting focused on exploring collaboration opportunities between the two organizations. ACAC’s Project Manager, Rita Yenjong, highlighted key achievements, including the VCAT workshop for Healthcare Providers, the establishment of the ACAC Network of 21 Civil Society Organizations, the dedicated SOGOC Media Network, and the publication of the Referral Pathway Document for Managing Rape Cases.

A question-and-answer session followed, allowing for a deeper understanding of each organization’s activities. Both parties expressed a need for collaborative discussions between the SOGOC Media Network and the ODAS Communication Task Force, and collaboration in advocacy to push the efforts made by SOGOC with stakeholder ministries and in promoting the referral pathway document.
ODAS emphasized its commitment to collaborating with SOGOC to enhance existing efforts rather than duplicating work. This accounts for the field visits conducted by the ODAS team.
