Mentoring of RMNCAH (Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Adolescent health program) providers and multi-skilled community health workers
in the Far North, North, Adamawa, Center, and East regions
Background and Justification
The unsatisfactory situation of the RMNCAH in Cameroon is a major concern for the various health stakeholders and particularly reproductive health stakeholders. There is indeed a worsening or insufficient improvement of indicators, espacially:
- MMR increased from 430 to 782 deaths per 100,000 NV between 2004 and 2011
- MMR decreased from 41 deaths per 1000 NV in 1998 to 28 in 2014 (insufficient decrease).
- Infant and juvenile mortality rate dropped from 146 per 1000 NV in 1998 to 122 per 1000 NV in 2011, 103/1000 in 2014 (insufficient decrease)
However, the target of the Sustainable Development Goals is to raise the global rate
